Hello all,

I've been looking for a story I first read several years ago... a boy befriends a newcomer at school (most likely junior high) who (due to some traumatic event) can only communicate through song lyrics. As I recall, this problem is fully resolved by story's end.

Any help in identifying this story is much appreciated.

Do you know how many stories there are out there to read? I haven't even read everything on the Best of Nifty list. You know, if you'd spend more time writing, Lug, you'd have less time to read, like the rest of us!

The condition is called Aphasia, something I found out about after I started to write the story. It was originally intended as a short story, and it could really use a rewrite. But I still think it's the most original idea I ever had.
