  1. Anne Elk (Miss) has a theory:
  2. Bruin! It's BIG FUN! If you can't spend a month on NANoWriMo, then this is a compressed, super-duper, version. 1500 words upwards between 12am and 8pm London time (the deadline isn't as strict as it could be) and the novels (generally 2 or 3 versions) are released just before midnight. No one has any idea of genre - until just after midnight on Saturday, when you get emailed a brief. Each author receives the same brief, EXCEPT for their chapter. You get a slim 'this is where you are in the story' a more detailed 'this is what has to happen in the chapter' and a short 'this is how the chapter ends.' Other than that it's entirely up to you what you write, and what the characters get up to. Considering no one knows what anyone else is writing, the resultant novels are remarkably coherent . The best explanation is at: http://novelinaday.com/ I hope you sign up! PM me if you want a copy of one of the previous briefs.
  3. Chapter 18 and only two weeks until the meeting!
  4. Wowza! Me, I doesn't like Ricco. I doesn't like him one little bit. Rock on Saturday - though by then my nails will be in ruins.
  5. If you are free on Saturday 19th October then consider this: https://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=51&t=58114 NIAD, or 'Novel in a Day' is run by Pigfender over at literatureandlatte.com. They developed Scrivener and Scapple, but you're not obliged to use them. I've written a chapter for four, so far, and had hysterically weird and fun days at it. I have no idea what the genre is this year, but the first time I took part it was a Western. NaNoWriMo (also big fun) takes a month, this is a day - a mere bagatelle. Check it out!
  6. There's something about this that is very Python (naked organ playing), or maybe I mean Trumpian (Blackmail).
  7. Pedro! All in all that was a rather lovely novel, and one I'll be reading again. Many thanks.
  8. Cole Parker's 30th novel started posting this week. All we have to do is hang on for the ride!
  9. We certainly can fly. Not far, and off a tall building (preferably with a jet pack), but who's being picky.
  10. Errata: with the addition 'Derek/Jake/Nick' line three should read '61 short stories, 30 novels, and more!'
  11. I have faith that something will happen at some point.
  12. An interesting origin story. Now we have to wait for the novel!
  13. A remarkable young man. He'd make a good President.
  14. It would be nice to know if this is a short or a novel, but whichever it is I'm up for the ride. You've hit my favourite genre button dead centre!
  15. As, being a shareholder, she should. That I blanched at her description is neither here, nor there. I liked the knife on the table moment, too. Don't care if it's not the last word, provided there are a few words - which, I'm hopeful, there will be.
  16. Wow! Considering the milieu, that was an action packed chapter! Mister Bad's been nicked--an excellent result--and there's possible (unexpected) redemption for Scott. I guess we'll find out on Saturday. My only wee moan is that Mother didn't appear.
  17. Cole Parker rocks! I can't think of one story of his I haven't liked. Not a one. I've just looked at his home page and gawped. Prodigious output just about covers it. 61 short stories, 29 novels, and more! He truly is an Awesome Dude.
  18. Doesn't it depend on what Colin's clients do, and the computers' spec? A Cray is still quite expensive - though where you'd sell one I have no idea... Cray's list? 😎
  19. Yep, lovely... though isn't everyone with a beautiful silver gravy ladle gay?

Well worth grabbing as it's hot off the virtual press, free, and a good read to boot. I'm looking forward to Talo's next offering.
  21. Glad to have been of help. 😎
  22. You have a point. I'll bet he sells expensive unwanted post-warranty insurance, too.
  23. Leaving aside the F2 tragedy, chapter 8 was as good as the F1 race at Spa, which was stellar. Leclerc is the business! Cute, too. Patrick's house is filling up, Scott is in BIG trouble, and Mother is reminding me more and more of Miss Marple. Two computers for the price of one? I need Mike's number.
