I want To Know

I too want to know.

I want to know what it is like to be

able to rebel against authority,

and be considered to be

contributing to humanity.

I want to know what it is like to not be

labelled as anything less than human,

to not have to call myself gay, or straight

to not be the object of hate.

I want to know what it is like to purge the past,

forego the future, and love in the present

without the dread of god or the fear of Man

robbing me of who I am.

I don't want to be called this or that,

I want to be able to be

evolving into me,

becoming whatever I can be.
