Nigel Gordon
Lisp? Effeminate? Limp-wristed freak? Is this some sort of stereotyping? Read James Cavell's Nobel House, one of the most dangerous things going is a limp-wristed freak - everybody underestimates them. Link to comment
Rutabaga
And so it concludes. I had to rewind back to Chapter 3 to reacquaint myself with the folks who reappeared in this last chapter, six weeks later, although from the context I at least had a clue or two. That's the one downside of reading these stories over such an extended length of time. I wonder if there's any chance resourceful Colt might end up as a successor to the narrator of the story someday, kind of like Will Smith coming in to relieve Tommy Lee Jones in "Men in Black." Thanks for sharing this. R Link to comment
Merkin
That sheriff idea has a lot of merit. Link to comment

Nigel Gordon
So far I don't think I have found one of Cole's stories that I have not enjoyed but this one really captured the imagination. Congratulations Cole on a good story really well told. Link to comment
Cole Parker
Thanks Nigel. Somehow, I've written enough stories now to be able to tell when I've got an good one going, and this one felt that way all the way through. C Link to comment
Merkin
Now that you've exorcised your inner Jack Reacher, Cole, maybe it is time to give Sheriff Jesse Stone a try. Link to comment
Cole Parker
Spenser, yes. Stone, no. He was a drunk. I don't do drunks. C Link to comment

Cole Parker
I plead innocence. I think Colin brought this back from the past. But it was nice of him to do so, and cause me to revisit it. C Link to comment
