The emotions that Lucien was going through in this story were very well captured, and I enjoyed experiencing every single one. This is one of the best reads I've had in a long time, and I was completely connected to Lucien throughout the whole ride.

Seriously, I do think this is quite a worthy follow-on to "Alec's Best Friend" and it wouldn't hurt for a reader to have tackled that one ahead of this one. Nor would it hurt to be familiar with Ryan Bartlett's recent stories that introduced other key characters.

I made notes to that effect, I think. Broken Hearted, The Preacher's Kid, Alec's Best Friend, Cowboy Up, and the next two are intricately tied together.

Yep; I mentioned in email to Dabeagle that I admired they way he showed Alec maturing, but still remaining Alec, if you know what I mean. Alec's exchanges with his parents are priceless.
