Camy
I like a happy ending. Me too. Kudos, Gee. Link to comment
Nigel Gordon
Just read the last chapter, then went back and read the whole thing again from the start. This is a story which promises a lot and it certainly delivers. Link to comment
DesDownunder
It does deliver doesn't it? Very mature and intelligent writing. Thanks Gee. Link to comment
Nick Deverill
It's also a good example of what one might call a novella. Not tonight, but I will also be re-reading the whole thing. Bit like a bar of chocolate sitting in the fridge, you know it's there and wanting it for a bit makes it taste better! Link to comment
colinian
One should call Exothermic Reaction a novella because it is a novella, a serial novella. Perfect for AD. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, twice. Once following the individual postings; again from beginning to end. Colin Link to comment
Chris James
I don't think you had writer's block, Gee, your mind was just waiting for the right vehicle. The only thing difficult about this story was pronouncing the title. A warm novella, sweet characters, what's not to like? The conclusion really did it for me...and don't we all wish all our stories could end like this. Bravo, Gee. Link to comment
Lugnutz
Must've found a bike you liked. Bravo. Link to comment
Rutabaga
A very engaging story -- like others, I kept waiting for the next update. I could so see myself in the main character . . . I was a very stubborn kid and could totally picture myself being convinced of my guilt and resisting any effort to get past that. The twist at the end concerning the origin of the fire was totally unexpected and made for quite a dramatic moment. I wondered initially whether the next-to-last chapter was actually the last chapter, because it ended at a plausible ending point. But I'm glad there was another one. More, please. R Link to comment
Rutabaga
I'm reviving this thread because I just reread this Pick from the Past and enjoyed it again. R Link to comment
Rutabaga
Reading it again, I related more to this story now than in the past because I am going through my own version of grieving right now. I could use a Scott, or even a Jake, or better both, at this moment. R Link to comment
Cole Parker
Gee has always been one of my favorite writers here. This story explains why. C Link to comment
