  1. -- AHA! --He just wanted to steal your oranges. See, his name's Julius and he used to date this darling girl named Clementine, but she was too orangey-sunshiney-bright for the likes of him...the girl got wise to his orange-stealing tricks, and she ran outta there faster than you can say marmalade. He was, well, crushed. Orange you glad I restrained myself?(Sorry, the urge to pun was just too much. *I am not ashamed!*)

  2. From the unused director's cut: (if it wasn't in the margins, it should've been)Hey Bill, your swash is unbuckled!Pope Matthew Mark Luke the 4th... because John was on the john.-----EleCivil, that was at least as good as most sketch comedy skits lately, and probably better. Your Drama teacher was too p.c.:claps:Hmm, think about that the-ay-ter thang Des was talkin' about. At least think about playwriting. Or better yet, *write on, dude!*

  3. Des did a fantastic job on the poem. The web page and text:http://www.codeysworld.com/desdownunder/po...nt-of-love.htmlThe audio file:http://www.codeysworld.com/desdownunder/au...ent_of_love.mp3There'th lotsth more audio (or odd-I/O) at Codey's World, including poems by DesDownUnder,a great punk jazz reading by Civility C and the Talentless Three (aka EleCivil), short stories by Graeme, and Codey, and Blue. We are adding more as we can get to them. Please also listen to http://www.AwesomeDudeRadio.com/ and check the audio recordings on AwesomeDude.com. Check out Camy's songs and Cam Clarke's songs. They're great! -- If you aren't listening to the great stuff Dude's providing at AD and AD Radio, you're missing out.

  4. I thought Cole's open bracket post left a lot open for discussion.... ;)Note: Codey once made a very short (or very long?) post on a poem about nothing. (I think it's still around, if you search.) I don't think he'd mind that WBMS borrowed his idea for a blog post. (The invoice is in the email.) (Much like the half a rubber check he sent me....)Hmm, if you had a detachable left hand, you could scratch your left elbow with your left hand with your right hand. :-O ...It's all in looking at the problem another way, which, admittedly, I don't always do.-----OK, back on topic: Hey, EleCivil, how'd you do? Didja pass? Didja pass out? Should I start the revolution without you? Should I carry a sign, "Down With Protests!" ? -- I'd like to claim that one as original, but it's an old "B.C." cartoon. (See, I managed to be both on-topic and off-topic, nearly simultaneously!)

  5. EC, you're bound to excel on the written portion. If not, I'll start carrying protest signs. Then again, I may start protesting now and then anyway.BTW, you might think of doing local color or personal writer's point of view or humor pieces for a local paper. (Dave Barry and locally, formerly Leon Hale come to mind.) Your short pieces are really good for that. Hey, you might make enough to buy more socks....

  6. Hahaha! Well, Mr. Peepers, if it was good for you, who am I to object. You can say it was one sexy machine. If it helps, I don't think you're alone. Seriously.Bruce Springsteen: The Boss sang about a "Pank Cadillac, crushed velvet seats...."Lenny Kravitz: "Black Velveteen...." (Although I got the impression he meant something besides a motorcycle....)Van Halen: "Panama" (OK, it's another one that's either a car or a girl, but still.)...And just because, hey, I'm sure you'd rather be with a guy car than a girl car...Consider how happy a stick shift is to see you.For that matter, isn't it obvious what all those guys "driving their manual" are doing? Hahaha! It's OK, I'm pretty sure you aren't destined to sire a four wheel drive.(Just what kind of car would EleCivil father? Now there's a question.)Hmm, Cadillac + B-52's Love Shack = Caddyshack?

  7. Man, how come I didn't have a college roommate like you? -- Only one or two of 'em were even close to that weird and wonderful.About the not drinking: I rarely drink much at all. It just doesn't appeal. In college, it was partially from being uptight...about too many things. But hey, I tried a few times. It didn't feel good enough to want to do it more. Friends mostly respected that, even if they didn't get why I felt that way. Other friends felt the same as I did.Hay! Congrats on the upcoming 21! That's about halfway between the 4th of July and Bastille Day. No, I dunno if it means anything either.

  8. Yet more proof how much you rock...or weeble. Being able to pull an all-nighter (or close it) with a good friend, for a bull session mixed with the serious and wacky, :thumbsup:It's great to see things are maybe working out better. :hugs: Octopus Shoes... that could be a title of more than a blog entry, but I dunno what would go with it. ...Calamari? :))Yay! More Laika to like!Top secret project? Have you been watching "Real Genius" again? -- Looking forward to the arrival of the big, humongous, hush-hush story. -- I wonder what will be different... 'cause I know something will be.

  9. I thought I was the only one who makes corn-syrupy posts regularly. Gasp. A while back, I was having a really crappy day, a lot of things, and lo and behold, a total stranger (a checker) gave me this really nice smile and comments. (Cute, she really should have a boyfriend.)What's my point? You run into random acts of kindness, or even ppl who will go out of their way to help, whether friends or ppl you've never met before. As long as there are a few of them, I can put up with most of the small-minded ones. "You gotta keep / chasin' that butterfly / oh ye-ah, my, my." -- The Verve

  10. So, she didn't walk out immediately, but it took her that long to figure out finally that you were kidding.Ahh, the public. Customers. Retail. Brave man.Hahaha, when I was doing that, I usually waited to get a first impression of a customer, before kidding around. However, the ones who can't take a joke, you don't often want as customers.Loving that you kidded her.Again, brave man.

  11. It took me a minute to realize you said you were ten in sixth grade. Huh.Middle school... hated it. Liked a few friends, liked most of my classes... hated some of the crud that went on, including from many kids. (Most middle school boys stay feral, until somewhere right before high school, they suddenly develop semi-civilized brains. The few who are civilized already, you hang onto as friends.)That photo of you as a kid is close enough to a guy I went to school with to wonder if you're cousins, but I doubt it.Ten years from where you are today -- could be a radical change or could be a lot the same. Most of the change is probably in life experience, and material things. But even your ideals and outlook will change a little.
