The Pecman Posted January 22, 2014 Report Share Posted January 22, 2014 This is classic: an 18-year old high school senior in Florida just got suspended from school because the principal found out that he had starred in a gay porn film. The teen claims he did the film in order to make extra money to help his single mom pay the rent and groceries. From CNN: Robert Marucci, a senior at Cocoa High School in Cocoa, Florida, told CNN affiliate WKMG that he picked up his X-rated gig to help his mom pay the bills. His mom, Melyssa Lieb, said when students discovered the explicit material online, her son became a target. "He was bullied, he was threatened." Then, according to Lieb, her son was suspended, because the principal didn't approve of his after-school activities. Initially, Marucci was bullied at school after other students found video clips online, but I think the tide kind of turned in his favor (which figures, since the kid is a surfer). At first, the principal expelled the student because the bullying was determined to be a "class disturbance," though that was quickly reduced to 4 days' suspension. What's pretty heartwarming is that after the kid was suspended, 79 of his friends at school put up a Facebook page protesting his suspension, and dozens of them walked out of school as an expression of solidarity. Needless to say, the kid is, shall we say, very talented. I think Mr. Marucci (whose stage name is ) has got the school board dead to rights, because he's of legal age, getting passing grades, hasn't been arrested, and can do what he wants on his own time. It might be different if he were a school teacher working under a contract, but I don't think they can do anything to a student. More reports here on the Huntington Post and USA Today. The guy is 18 - and I don't remember anyone looking like that in HS - and can legally do what he wants. One part I feel not quite so good about is the mother defending him for working to pay their bills...I say this with no knowledge of those bills, circumstances, etc...all things being equal I'm not sure why she'd be proud of his career. Perhaps it's my more conservative nature, but this kid's life just got tagged with details that will never go away. If he changes course and goes to college or applies in the world of business outside the porn industry, there are pictures of him out there everywhere being paid for sex. Regardless of 'right and wrong' people are people (read idiots) and this won't ever go away. It's a pretty big decision for 18. Also, can you imagine going to his high school, seeing him everyday and going home at high to watch videos of him being pounded or returning the favor? I am not sure if it is your conservative nature or an intrinsically Anglo-Saxon social prudity, whilst the Anglo-Saxon world tends to take a dim view of anybody who at anytime has been involved in the sex trade other societies are far more comfortable with it. When I was working in Germany and had to vet CVs for job applications it was not unusual to find that students had worked in porn film to pay their way through University and would openly put this on their CV. The attitude tended to be, so the kid is showing incentive and a willingness to work. That was over thirty years ago and I hear now that they are now taking a much more Anglo-Saxon attitude but might it not be better if we took their attitude. Link to comment

The young man in question has only made 2 or 3 short films (maybe 10-15 minutes each), but he clearly has... talent. SeanCody.com. I would guess the principal suspended him due to penis envy.
