JamesSavik
Where were you in '77? Well we all have a faceThat we hide away foreverAnd we take them out and show ourselvesWhen everyone has goneSome are satin some are steelSome are silk and some are leatherThey're the faces of the strangerBut we love to try them on Don't go changing, to try and please meYou never let me down beforeDon't imagine you're too familiarAnd I don't see you anymoreI would not leave you in times of troubleWe never could have come this farI took the good times, I'll take the bad timesI'll take you just the way you are Lots of good stuff on that album. It still comes up on the classic rock station play lists. Got it on original vinyl and picked up the CD cheap not long ago. Chris James
Thank you, sir...that was nice. I was all rock and roll in my college days, and Billy Joel came a decade later. But we managed to get Jim Croce on campus to perform in '72, and then sadly he was killed in a plane crash a year later. I loved those smaller close up concerts with the artist sitting mere feet away. It made them vulnerable, and they bonded with the audience. Ah, the old days before concerts went into football stadiums. Link to comment
Camy
Wow! A veritable rave from the grave. Along with Bowie's 'Young Americans' 'The Stranger' is an album that transports me straight back to a time and a place, peopled by friends I was incredibly close to but haven't really seen since - not to mention two Irish Wolfhounds and a very singular marmalade cat called Chivers. Thanks, James. Link to comment
Lugnutz
Never got into Billy Joel. Wasn't my forte. Link to comment
JamesSavik
How about 1979? When I was young, it seemed that life was so wonderful,a miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical. And all the birds in the trees, well they'd be singing so happily, joyfully, playfully watching me.But then they send me away to teach me how to be sensible, logical, responsible, practical. And they showed me a world where I could be so dependable, clinical, intellectual, cynical. There are times when all the world's asleep, the questions run too deepfor such a simple man.Won't you please, please tell me what we've learnedI know it sounds absurdbut please tell me who I am. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfApBz4_XQk Now some they do and some they don'tAnd some you just can't tellAnd some they will and some they won'tWith some it's just as wellYou can laugh at my behaviorThat'll never bother meSay the devil is my saviorBut I don't pay no heed Album info @ wikipwdia ==> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breakfast_in_America Link to comment

There's a new kid in town.Ev'rybody loves him, don't they?
