    EEEPC

It's a perfect topic! When you say the keyboard is (just) touchtypable, how just is just? I'm wondering 'cause I have big fingers. Also the screen at 7" seems a tad small. I'd love a Mac Air, but I'd be terrified of sitting on it, losing it in its brown envelope, or paying for it. 5 or six EEEPCs for the price. I've almost sold myself one! Cheers, Camy
  2. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7209470.stm The first in a new class of HIV drugs has become available in the UK. It means doctors will have a further treatment option for patients who have built up resistance to existing drugs. Raltegravir is an integrase inhibitor, which works by blocking an enzyme essential for HIV to be able to replicate itself. An estimated 73,000 people live with HIV in the UK. Raltegravir will be reserved for those who have stopped responding to other treatment. Resistance to HIV medication is becoming increasingly common - more than one in 10 UK patients with HIV has some level of resistance to at least one drug before they have even begun therapy, research has shown.
  3. Have a wonderful, and very Happy Birthday, Jason. Camy
  4. Hmm. And very happy I am to live here, too.
  5. I have no idea why, but I thought Phelps had died recently. Wishful thinking, I suppose. TR's link to the Phelps YouTube 'piece' on Heath Ledger is the first time I've seen him speak, and it struck me that if you look, really look at him: he's a sad, hatefilled and obviously twisted individual. It's all there in his face. So I went to look at wikipedia which said there were between 70 and 150 members of his 'church'. Why is it then that he seems to have such a profound effect on us? Why is it he can rattle our cage so easily? The only good thing about Phelps, is that his continued presence means we still have freedom of speech. The Bottom line: Methinks he protesteth too much! 6. Chapter 25! ... and it keeps getting better and better.
  7. Silly? Moi? *looks around* Am I not loitering (without intent) in 'The Raccoon's Den'? QED - everything in here is your fault!
  8. Worry not, Cole. I think the point is that there is no point. Which is very Raccoon, very Wibby. Didn't Freud mention whatever, somewhere? Anyhow, I'd like to thank you for rallying around to protect my innocence. Muchly. I would indeed. Thanke!
  9. Bahaha. Much too awesome :D.

  10. Well ... oh, never mind.
  11. Almost time for chapter 23!

    Yarrrr.

Yep, I think Gabriel Duncan is.
  13. The future of malware doesn?t belong to our hard disks. While we?re still trying to harden our PCs against malicious executables by using unprivileged accounts, wrapping our browsers inside sandboxes and trusting antivirus programs, our digital assets are quickly moving to another place: how much of our identity and money is already on the Web? Even better, how much of our identity and money is not available somewhere on the Web yet? Read the whole article: http://hackademix.net/2008/01/12/malware-20-is-now/ If you're running Firefox you should have 'NoScript' installed.

    Let Me Go

Good stuff Gabe! A Band? Excellent! Are you going to record it?
  15. Poisoned websites attack visitors Thousands of small web shops have been unwittingly poisoned with malicious code that infects PC users who visit. Security experts said the sophisticated attack had succeeded on a larger scale than many other similar attacks. Once installed on a Windows machine the malicious code steals passwords, browser data as well as login names for bank accounts and online games. The attack is proving hard to defend against for both sites being hit and PC users who are caught out. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7193993.stm
  16. I haven't voted as, wuss that I am, I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. I would vote for 'Possibly with an editor', but it's really nifty fare imo.

Dear Bruin and Des, sweat it not, chaps. Me and my poem (or should that be my poem and I?) are flattered, nay honoured. Camy

    Regal Style

I love this poem! It's very reminiscent of John betjeman who was British Poet Laureate in 1972. Well done Bruin! Camy PS - my favourite Betjemin poem, and one of his better known works is 'Slough' It was written in 1937. Here are a couple of verses: Come friendly bombs and fall on Slough! It isn't fit for humans now, There isn't grass to graze a cow. Swarm over, Death! Come, bombs and blow to smithereens Those air -conditioned, bright canteens, Tinned fruit, tinned meat, tinned milk, tinned beans, Tinned minds, tinned breath.
