The Inner Sanctum

Announcing: New category in my blog: Deeper thoughts of an Orangutan. I am thinking I might like to write some thoughts, essays or viewpoints on various subjects that are perhaps a little abstract, maybe nonsensical or even politically incorrect. I might even write an address to the people of Earth, once I am certain the mother-ship is on the way to pick me and take me home. Anyway I have created a category in my blog for subjects that are somewhat more outsopken. If I can ever get time, I may

Debt

Joy! We had our budget yesterday. Apparently, those 'in charge' have borrowed - and intend to go on borrowing - an awful lot of dosh. Apparently, the debt equates to over ?17,000 for every man woman and child in the UK. Apparently .... Sadly, I voted for the inept cretins - though (in my defence) at the time the prime minister wasn't a man with despotic megalomania, and the Chancellor didn't have Caterpillars for eybrows and an Adams' family hairdo. Never again! I intend to declare independen

Thank God that this week is over now...

Hey, Thank God that this week is over now...This week is the most hardest time for me, in my entire life. All of you know that I mentioned a year ago that my friend was killed in a car accident. It is a year since Saul and Quintin died. I'll never forget them...It is still hard for all of us, because we still can't believe that they are gone, and we won't see them physically ever again... We won't see them growing up and achieve their goals. Well, I went home for the weekend (April 10th - 13th

Muse vs WoW

My brain is being battered by warfare. Muse - bless his cotton socks - wants to do stuff, but me, I can't seem to get it together. I mean, here I am on the computer, typing. But when it comes to putting words in order that do anything close to telling a tale. Pah. So it's off to bloody (and yes it is bloody with the amount of poor beasties I've slaughtered and skinned) Azeroth. I have three alliance characters that I'm levelling (don't ask me what it means, 'cause I don't really know). One, a H

Sleeping through the Crisis

I don't understand all this fuss about a financial crisis. I've been in a financial crisis for over ten years. Every time we use up the limit on the credit we just get the bank to extend the limit. Sexual deficiency is the only real crisis worth worrying about. So far I reckon we have another 12 months before we run out of money again, but wait, I will soon have the pension money coming in and that will have to help. So I reckon the banks should extend everyone's credit limit and then we wouldn

Muse

Having spent a couple of months desolate and bereft of the urge to write anything, other than shopping lists, it appears that my flighty friend, confident, and all-round blithering idiot, Muse, has returned. W00T I say, and W00T some more.

Addicted

If you have an addictive personality it's unwise - nay foolish - to start doing anything that is ... erm ... addictive. Obviously. Drugs: been there, done that. Alcohol - though I consider it a drug as much as anything else - the same. Okay, sure, I have the occasional brandy in a cup of coffee, and I've picked the wrong day to give up sniffing glue, but that's my lot. Honestly. Until, that is, a week ago, and I found WoW. World of Warcraft is ... well, it's bloody brilliant! Camy

April is coming up soon...

Hey y'all, College life is going good. Meet a lot of new weird random people but hell, they are fun. My spring break (in first week of March) went well. Just relax at home and chill with some few friends who were home for spring break at same time as I was. How are you all? How are your lives doing? How's your relationship going? Well...my next topic is the hardest thing to talk about...April is coming up next week...That means April 11th marked the first year since car accident and two death

EC vs. The Forces of Exhaustion, Erosion, and Erudition

Wow, it's been a while since I've written anything in here, huh? Well, I've got a fairly good excuse, this time - with my commute added in, I'm working about 13 hours every day. For no money. In fact, I'm paying about 10k for the privilege of working 13 hour days. That's right - I'm student-teaching. I've already finished up with my stint as a language arts teacher. Right now, I'm teaching science. Starting on Monday, I'll be teaching not only general science, but for one hour a day I'll be te

International Relations in the Video Store

Like all good video stores we have members who insist on showing us how well they can scratch the DVDs. I have wondered if the opposition actually pays people to borrow from us and use the discs as Frisbees for the dog. Off course it is likely in our rich area (where the shop is, not where we live, we live in the slums on the other side of town; (of course, we are poor white gay males in case you hadn't guessed)), anyway as I was saying, it is likely that these rich folk don't even know what a

Cars Grrrrrr.

In the UK we have a yearly test for cars called an MOT. In years past, although it was illegal, frowned upon, and you risked getting a big slap, it was not that big a deal if your cars MOT had expired. Now, what with computers and the 1984 Big Brother mentality, you risk severe doo-doo if you don't have one. Today, my baby Renault Clio failed hers. *sob, wail, gnash, howl* So I get home and look at the failure sheet (you have 10 days to put the problems right and have a re-test). 'It's not so

Poetry Readings Delayed in Adelaide

It's been an awkward year for me and I hadn't been able to get to the local poetry reading group for about 8 months (I think.) Anyway, the stars aligned with Jupiter and the moon was in the seventh house, etc., and I had the night free to attend the local poets reading their poems. Most of them of course read descriptions of 'things' as if they were shopping lists delivered like a telegram, but hey, people were attempting to be creative, so who cares? The first shock was that the admission had

Oscar Winner Makes Me Dizzy

Slumdog Millionaire has won the Best Picture Oscar and I had to walk out after 20 minutes. Why? Why did it win, or why did I walk out? I can't begin to guess why it won except to reward new wave filming for by-passing tried and proven techniques of movie making. Why did I leave the screening? Because the handheld camera and sloppy filming interfered with my being able to relate to the image. The smart-ass cinematography and editing got in the way of the story for me. And when the hand-held

Backup!

Recently I've been somewhat miffed. The reason being: we lost a hard drive with a months work on it. It was a brand new hard drive and was immediately replaced, but that doesn't replace the music. Still, on the bright side we've decided it was 'the mysterious finger of God' that fucked us up, and the work we do now will, obviously, be much, much better. We've decided this because otherwise I'd have to kill myself for being a total arse, and frankly, I feint at the sight of blood - especially m

valentine's day, etc

Hey, Last weekend, I went home for Valentine's Day. Tara and I had an awesome time on our Valentine's Day. I gave her a Valentine present, which is a necklace, roses with a card in it that includes reasons why I love her. It is kind of pricey, but I paid the necklace with my love. I truly do love her. Why do I love Tara? It is because of her personality, her being who she is, sweet, cute, awesome and more. I may be biased, but she is truly perfect girl that I ever have. Unbelievable that in fe

Happy Valentine!

I wrote a 'poem' ... it seemed the thing to do. There are those I admire who live who far away Across Oceans and lands vast and stark Whose wit and friendship oft make my day And pull me from moods deep and dark So on Saint Valentine's day I'd like them to know Their friendship and love matters muchly To this English prole who would like to bestow A Lordship at least ... or a Duchy!

Advance Warning of Word Cruelty.

It's still hot, so is the weather. I am devoting my time to my new forthcoming story which I just know is not going to be everyone's cup of tea or coffee or soda. I suppose I could have included beer and wine, but would anyone read my stories while drunk? Would anyone read one of my stories while sober, is probably more to the point. But hey, someone has to write this stuff, right? I have long tried to avoid writing an "Aussie" story, being more interested in the universal subjects that affec

Happy New What

Have you ever noticed ho difficult it is to have a happy new year when the rest of the world seems to have gone stark raving mad? Perhaps it is just me, perhaps I have caught some dreaded mental malady that makes me think the rest of the world is bonkers when it is really me that has gone psycho in January. I can tell you I wasn't too happy about Uganda passing laws to execute homosexuals, and my straight friends weren't impressed that if straight people know a gay person, then they have to r

Update

My hubristic outburst along the lines of 'shan't write a thing until I've finished a novel na-na-na-na-naaaaaa!' has caused me a lot of grief. So much, in fact, that I'm amazed I haven't exploded - or should that be imploded ... or possiby both? Anyway, I've given up on it. If I do, then I do. If I don't, then c'est la vie, or somesuch. Life's way too short not to write because I've been a tit. There I've admitted it: I'm a tit. ----- Let me commend to you www.fawm.org. Lots of fun, and rem

I'm Hot

I'm Hot, but you all knew that didn't you? We are sweltering in a heatwave here in Adelaide South Australia with 3 days (or is it 4) over 44C (111F). We have had over 30 people suffer sudden deaths from the heat with more expected. The politicians are to blame for the heat according to a section of the local community. I don't think any of our politicians could get up enough energy to expel the quantity of hot air that would be needed to raise the temperature to where it is at the moment.
